To my loyal followers, tonight I need to lay it all on the line. It’s gotten to the stage where I desperately need your help. I’ve tried to continue doing what we do best, taking in animals who have been abandoned, abused, and neglected, provide them with a safe haven, medical care, and rehabilitation for as long as I can, but tonight I need you more than ever.
Unfortunately, the cost of veterinary care has risen to staggering heights and the influx of animals we have taken in recently has left us in a precarious financial situation.
Without your help we will struggle to take new animals for some time - we already have to knock back requests to help dogs and cats every week and it’s truly breaking my heart.
I founded this rescue to say YES to animals that need us more than ever and we just need to get back to that position so we can again open our doors to those that need our help more than ever in their toughest moments. We are a unique rescue in every sense of the word.
We do everything we can to restore animals' health, physically and psychologically, including housing and rehabilitating them for years if it comes to that, we don’t have cut off points or deadlines by when our animals need to be adoptable or else, we give them all the time they need whilst actively working on their physical and psychological rehab. Let me tell you about Stormi. Stormi was a tiny baby found in a caring person's driveway and handed in to a vet clinic. She had only just opened her eyes.
Two weeks later Stormi began vomiting uncontrollably and became dangerously flat. We rushed her to the vet where she was given several different antibiotics, IV fluids and tests. Her liver wasn't good and she was anemic but nothing was clear as to what was actually happening. After several days of 24/7 hospitalisation she had a little bounce back in her step and began improving rapidly.
She was so tiny but boy is she mighty!! Stormi has no lasting effects from her illness and is a beautiful, active little kitten. She has now been adopted to a wonderful home. This is what we do best - rescue and rehabilitate animals like Stormi in their darkest moments. Tonight we are putting it all on the line.
We need to raise at least $15,000 to help pay our vet bills that are due this week.
This is our SOS – our urgent call for your help. We are committed to doing everything we can to save and protect animals, but we cannot do it alone. Together we can make a difference, and together we can save lives.
Just $5 from each and every one of you would get us to our goal. It’s the cost of your next cup of coffee but one that will help save a life.
We receive no government funding or corporate sponsorship, we are 100% volunteer run so we are completely reliant on your help tonight to help more precious animals like Stormi.
